Repurposing Mid-Skincare
One of life's small thrills for me is finishing a product. Social media likes to give labels to everything. Minimalism. Project pan. Low buy. No buy. I don't care what you call it but I would like to urge everyone to bring thriftiness back.
Personally, if something didn't work for me, I'm hesitant to offer it to someone else, so I've gotten pretty resourceful over the years. Below are ways I've gotten rid of and am working through so-so products:
- mild shampoo = cleanser for your makeup brushes
- face wash = body wash
- face scrub = body scrub
- eye cream = neck cream (I don't know about you but I have mad wrinkles on my neck)
- facial cream = body lotion or foot lotion (I hate products that come in a tub because of potential cross contamination. What worked for my face suddenly wasn't so I applied it to my feet and I swear it made my athlete's foot go away)
- I try to avoid fragrance but sometimes a product surprises you with it anyway. If it's not too expensive, I'll use it on my body instead of my face
- to get the most out of toners and avoid cotton pads, I pour it into an empty spray bottle and spritz away
- liquid lotion. I got this as part of a skincare set but because it was heavily scented, I put it in a spray bottle and use it on my back since it's a hard to reach area
I don't know what you do with duds but let me know if there are other ways to repurpose mid-skincare.
