I am Sophia Kang. I am what you'd call a generalist. Basically, I'm a creative problem-solver. I write and I make art but I've been known to make handmade jewelry, bookbind, cross-stitch, tie-dye, the list goes on and on. My current project is making paper.

I'm a Korean-American based in California, and I'm navigating adulthood while trying to maintain my childlike sense of wonder. If you too are drawn to ephemera and tackle everything you do in earnest, why not consider subscribing?

I cannot guarantee exactly what you're signing up for but it'll be a mix of topics all written by yours truly. Heavy on papermaking for now.

Paper Club COMING SOON!

I hosted a handmade paper giveaway in January 2025 asking people what they would use the paper for and I was tickled by the responses. Someone said they'd use it to make a handmade Valentine for their partner, an addition to their art installation, and another as a vehicle to write their music. Not only did their answers exceed my expectations, but I had so much fun choosing the papers and packaging them that I decided I wanted to continue sending handmade papers to people by mail.

Membership to paper club is for those who value meaningful connections and could use the nudge to get offline and make something. I'll be providing more details in the coming months. I'd love to know how else you'd use handmade paper.
